Description:

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a self-employed basis. We teach employment law to employment lawyers and HR Professionals, mostly through a membership model and online training.
You will be maintaining three sets of accounts for our three sister companies. Websites at www.danielbarnett.com and www.hrinnercircle.co.uk .

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems or processes as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily Sales Invoicing using Xero Accounting software: one-off, or recurring monthly/quarterly/annual invoicing as appropriate for the customer.
  • Maintain Excel spreadsheet of all member invoices, adding new members and removing members who cancel; ensure annual or quarterly invoicing is done on time to ensure an appropriate notice period.
  • Ensure that online payments have been taken properly via stripe. Contact any customer’s whose payment has failed.
  • Check and respond to daily queries on Slack from colleagues, and daily emails from customers
  • Weekly/monthly/quarterly bank reconciliation as appropriate for each bank account
  • Monthly Staff Payroll and Pension submissions.
  • Entering all the expenses for Quarterly VAT returns (and submitting once approved)
  • Occasional credit control (chasing debt)
  • Preparing quarterly management reports
  • Send end of year reports and other information required to accountant and answer queries as necessary.
