Description:
We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the Non-Profit industry, located in Austin, Texas. As a Bookkeeper, you will play an integral role in maintaining the financial records of our organization, including managing customer accounts, processing payments, and ensuring our financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic bookkeeping duties including managing accounts receivable and payable, reconciling bank statements, and posting deposits.
- Carry out data entry tasks for all departments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain office equipment and inventory, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of annual audits by compiling necessary information.
- Maintain and develop in-house procedures for the accounting department to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate in daily operations such as answering phone calls, opening and coding mail, and preparing for events.
- Manage customer service duties, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for various bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
- Assist in maintaining accurate customer credit records and processing credit applications.
- Support the executive team by preparing necessary paperwork and reports.
- Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
- Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations
- Extensive knowledge in Bookkeeping
- Proficiency in Data Entry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Month End Close procedures
- Experience with QuickBooks software
- Previous experience in a non-profit organization is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.
