Description:

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in New York. This role requires a mix of in-office and remote work, with on-site needs in the heart of New York City on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and remote work on Monday and Friday. As a Bookkeeper, you will be an integral part of our team, primarily focusing on handling various aspects of our financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process payments, invoices, income, and receipts, and ensure the data is correctly entered into our accounting software.
  • Administer vendor invoice payments while keeping a keen eye on bank account balances.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing procedures, including G/L account analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy in business accounts and immediately report any discrepancies or errors.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable, and maintain healthy vendor relations.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Handle employee expense claims in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide necessary support to the Accountant with administrative duties and yearly account preparation.
  • Make necessary G/L adjusting entries.
  • Participate in budget and projection preparation as needed.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Bookkeeping role.
  • Proficient in account reconciliation.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated skills in bookkeeping and data entry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience with month-end close procedures.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks is necessary.
  • Experience with Sage X3 software is a plus.
