Description:
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the Dowagiac, Michigan, 49047, United States. In this role, you will be tasked with managing company’s financial records, including sales, purchases, payments and receipts. You will function within a team environment, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations and contributing to our company’s overall financial health.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain accurate general ledger and other financial journals.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports and statements for review.
- Conduct monthly bank statement reconciliations.
- Process check requests and secure proper authorization for all expenditures.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports as needed.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and guidelines in all financial operations.
- Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring all applicable taxes are paid timely and accurately.
- Maintain a strict level of confidentiality on all financial matters relating to the company.
- Answer phone calls, greet office visitors and assist in answering general questions.
- Keep track of the company’s calendar, including scheduling special events and committee meetings.
- Maintain the company’s registry and other records as required.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping role
- Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and General Ledger
- Demonstrated experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Proven ability to perform Bank Reconciliations
- Strong bookkeeping skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in Month End Close procedures
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to ensure accuracy in all tasks
- Experienced in Financial Statement Preparation
- Must have legal right to work in the country of employment without sponsorship
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken
