JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting and analysis, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years experience as a Bookkeeper or comparative experience
  • Comfortable with Sage50 preferred
  • Medium to advanced level of Microsoft Office Skill
  • Good understanding of the Canada Labour Code
  • Strong communication

  • Honest, humble, strong integrity and self-starter
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage budgeting processes, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Calculate payroll and ensure timely and accurate payment of employee wages both hourly and salary including overtime and vacation pay, as well.
  • Calculate ad remit monthly payroll source deductions, Employer’s Health Tax, WorkSafeBC’s and GST.
  • Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely collection and payment of invoices.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Sage50 for various accounting tasks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Support internal audits and respond to inquiries from external auditors as needed.
