JOB DESCRIPTION:

Southern Integrated Solutions and Consulting (SISC) is searching for a Bookkeeper.
The ideal candidate for this position is a team player, able to multitask, and quick to learn. If you are a motivated individual who is passionate about technology and enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration (with a finance / accounting minor)
  • Preferred: Professional certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

HARD SKILLS:

  • Manage accounts payable, benefits, and payroll
  • Must be able to compile accurate and timely monthly and yearly accounting reports
  • Computer proficient
  • Microsoft proficient
  • Working knowledge of accounting software

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Highly organized

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements for SISC funds
  • Prepare deposits and transfers
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Payroll Processing
  • Prepare year end W-2s, 10-99s, transmittals, and grant administration
  • Prepare quarterly payroll tax reports, workmen’s compensation insurance reports
  • Employee benefit payment remittance (health insurance, 401k, etc)
  • Maintain all accounting records including financial statements, general ledgers, journals, check registers, earnings records, working papers, and support documentation
  • Maintaining records of vacation and sick leave payable
  • Preparing monthly budget & reports for proper tracking of actual to budgeted expenditures
  • Working with external auditors regarding conformity of SISC’s financial statements to generally accepted accounting principles as applicable to governments and compliance with certain provisions of laws, regulations, contracts, and grants
