What you will do:
As a Bookkeeping Technician, you will enjoy a wide variety of responsibilities and challenges. You will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, investment reconciliations, payment, payroll and reporting functions related to each client you serve. The role provides the opportunity for much technical learning and growth. You are a business partner to each client you provide services to and will be get to learn each clients financial position inside and out!
This role will be based in either our Hamilton or Oakville office and is required to be performed in office.

Responsibilities:
- Personal and Corporate Bookkeeping using Quickbooks
- Reconciliation of bank balances, credit card transactions, and other transactional balances
- Manage payroll compliance, including regular payroll, taxable benefits, and CRA filings
- Liaising with private bankers and investment advisors regarding cash balances and transactions
- Manage communication with vendors regarding bill payments and wire transfers
- Assist with gathering of information required for personal income tax filings
- Preparation and filing of HST returns
- Preparation of review and compilation files, including preparation of unaudited financial statements and notes in accordance with established standards as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What you bring to this role:
- 1-3 years’ relevant work experience with exposure to a variety of industries, preferably in a multi-client professional services environment
- Accounting/business diploma or equivalent work experience
- Experience with payroll, document management, HST filings and experience in accounting for investments is crucial
- Strong technology/software skills including experience with TaxPrep, QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized and detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Work closely with other team members to deliver outstanding service
- Excellent client services skills and communication with an aptitude to understand the client business and maintain strong client relationships
