- Certificate in office education, business administration or a related field or an equivalent combination of recent and relevant education, training and experience
- Two years of recent relevant work experience in customer service
- Demonstrated ability in data input.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective interpersonal communications skills (listening, oral, writing) and computer telephony skills (i.e. multi-tasking).
- Intermediate level computer knowledge with spreadsheet applications.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with numerous interruptions while ensuring accuracy.
- Demonstrates valuing diversity.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy boxes when required.
Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES
The Bookstore Information and Website Representative’s primary focus is providing information, service and support to students. Responsibilities of this position include customer service, answering calls to the Bookstore Call Centre phone line (1-866-569-8398) and processing student orders for textbooks, course manuals, supplies and other materials using a complex multi-store bookstore operating system. It would be beneficial to the applicant, but not a requirement, to have knowledge of SaskPolytech programs and courses and product knowledge for those courses as well as knowledge of the WINPRISMcollege inventory, point of sale system and WHMIS certification.
DUTIES
- Processing student orders for material and supplies using WinPrism:
- searching for correct course or program and associated material
- costing material including shipping costs and taxes
- establishing a student account
- taking payments via credit card, cheque or creating an accounts receivable
- Answering student questions regarding books list for programs and courses.
- Routing calls to the appropriate campus bookstore and staff member at that bookstore.
- Answering student questions and supporting the bookstore website.
- Answering questions about the status of book orders.
- Preparing shipment of orders to students.
