Description:
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) Manager within the Emergency Surgery and Elective Care Business Unit at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Working with the Operational Services Manager, the post holder will play a pivotal role in the day to day operational management of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programmes; the Faecal Occult Blood test for the 50 – 74 year olds across the North of Tyne Screening Centre (Northumbria Healthcare and Newcastle Hospitals).
The post holders should have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

- To co-ordinate a programme of research and audit, supporting the Lead SSP to deliver research findings and publications.
- To directly line manage the screening centre administrative team.
- To manage screening appointments in line with national criteria.
- To play an active organisational role in the provision of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programmes; providing support to the Operational Services Manager (OSM) and Trust management team.
- Co-ordinating the work stream of addressing Health Inequalities and tacking barriers to accessing bowel cancer screening for marginalized groups..
- Supporting the Lead SSP and SSP team in the co-ordination and delivery of health promotion activities to improve access to screening across all sections of society.

To manage and co-ordinate training and professional development of the administration team.
- To promote effective communication within the BCSP team ensuring that all staff.
are aware of National, Trust and Business Unit aims and objectives.
- To ensure effective data management as per national requirements in line with data protection regulations.
- To support the Lead SSP, who leads on Quality Assurance, to monitor the Quality Assurance programme within the screening centre.
- To be an authorised signatory for financial payments up to a specific limit.
- To promote Lean principles within the department encouraging staff involvement at all levels.
- To work under in accordance between Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust and Newcastle Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust in supporting service transformation between the endoscopy units
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
