Description:
Starvox Entertainment is looking for a friendly, extroverted, and professional Box Office Associate for a seasonal position for an upcoming dinner theatre production this winter in Halifax. The ideal candidate will have experience and comfort working in ticketing in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and organizational skills.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Box Office Associate will support the maintaining of ticket inventory, delivering seating and meal information to the venue in a timely manner, resolving customer complaints and problems, and ensuring compliance in cash handling procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience and familiarity with ticketing systems is a must
- A committed, professional, and proactive approach to work
- Available to work Full-Time from December 9th - January 5th, including work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent people skills with the ability to interact effective with customers as well as staff members at all levels within the organization in person, by e-mail, and telephone
- Reliable, responsible and punctual
- Ability to work well both independently and as a part of a team
- Proven cash handling skills and experience with computerized sales POS system
- A can-do attitude
- Love of theatre is a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that each visitor is met with a smile and a friendly greeting
- Handling walk up sales and using up-selling to maximize revenue when appropriate
- Processing and managing cash, debit, and credit card transactions with confidence
- Operating computerized ticketing systems and ensuring all account data is captured accurately
- Assist with compiling the meal orders and seating requests into a seating chart for the production’s dining staff
- Maintaining discretion regarding confidentiality of all account information
- Adhering to and interpreting all ticketing policies and procedures to provide a high level of service
- Trouble-shooting equipment and hardware
- Balance daily transactions ensuring all sales are balanced (accuracy is essential), troubleshooting when discrepancies occur
- Be familiar with the facility and surrounding area in order to provide correct directions to the public
- Have an experienced knowledge of all related ticket pricing, schedule, promotions, and operations
- Deal with any customer issues related to ticketing
- Attending training for Retail Associates and Coat Check Operator positions and stepping into these position when required
- Other duties as required
