Reporting to the Financial Controller, the BPA Manager is responsible for defining, providing & interpreting accurate and timely information which ensures management can make correct business decisions. It is also the responsibility of this person to ensure the accuracy of inventory value and COGM, to identify, analyze and evaluate manufacturing cost data against expected targets and previous performance. To identify & deliver cost savings and to manage the budget process & MTO reporting. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Partnering with the Businesses to ensure achievement of business goals for growth, ensuring sound financial management & financial controls throughout, and delivering cost effectiveness.
- Execution of Business & Finance function and engagement in the monthly, quarterly and year-end process ensuring all month end procedures and timeframes are met.
- Participation in strategic activities and development of strategic plan.
- Assist in preparation and presentation of the Site annual budget.
- Integration of management accounting data into strategy & decision making, through modelling projections forecasting; risk analysis & assessment; business case scenarios.
- Participate in tax & statutory activities supporting Controller to ensure compliance needs for the legal entity are met.
- Contract reviews, leases, etc.
- Promote cooperation and teamwork with all departments by open, candid communication and timely coordination of information to keep the business informed of financial performance.
- Product Costing to ensure appropriate standard costs are set up in the ERP system and inventory is valued appropriately.
What you will bring to Alcon:
- Minimum Experience in Financial/Business Planning with increasing levels of responsibility (minimum 3 years post qualification).
- Strong systems experience (especially SAP) and ability to manage multiple systems
- Strong Excel skills with abilities to create and enhance detailed, complex financial models.
- Excellent attention to detail and systematic approach to manage tasks.
- Ability to draft clear and concise SOP’s, work instructions to demonstrate attention to detail and consistency in the execution of repetitive tasks.
- Preferred: Experience in Medical device or Pharma industries. Thorough understanding of cost levers & manufacturing flow. Proven record of cost improvement. Cross functional experience & understanding of processes.
- MBA or a Fellow of recognized accountancy body – ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong record of customer-focus, detail-orientation.
