JOB SUMMARY

The Brand Manager, Magnum is instrumental in driving and growing the Ice Cream brands for Unilever. Our Ice Cream category vision is measured in smiles and happiness – Ice cream makes you happier! The Brand Manager will co-lead and execute both the development and implementation of the integrated Brand Marketing Plan to achieve short and long-term business goals, working, working closely with key agencies, customer development teams and regional teams.

We are looking for a Brand Manager who will craft purposeful brands, inspiring others through stewardship to build brand communities to express them perfectly, pioneering and partnering to generate breakthrough ideas and translate these into concepts that deliver on our strategies.

  • Strong experience in Marketing, particularly previous experience in consumer goods, communication development, media strategy and deployment, activation planning and deployment.
  • Experience in executing with and through retailers, particularly in engaging with major retailers / food chains at similarly senior levels.
  • Proficiency in briefing, critiquing and providing direction to agencies on various elements of communication development and activation.
  • Strong understanding of Brand Management, Brand activation, and Channel marketing with breadth in Customer marketing, Brand Development, R&D and Supply Chain interaction.
  • Proven experience in developing innovation projects and business cases though to launch.
  • Commercial acumen and experience working in a cross-functional team with holistic P&L responsibility.
  • Trade Customer experience – either in direct customer/category roles, or strong experience in presenting to and/or negotiating with major customers.
  • Strong NPD skills, with experience in developing mixes.
  • Good understanding of all aspects of consumer insight, including monitoring brand health, measuring comms effectiveness, innovation insights and evaluation, and sales performance monitoring.

Responsibilities:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Co-leads the category and brand/s vision in working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Co-delivers Brand P&L in line with business objectives including resource prioritization, lead development of quality input into medium forecast and creation of any necessary contingency plans.
  • Co-leads the development of the Brand Marketing Plan by identifying the brand’s key issues and opportunities using:
  • consumer knowledge & understanding
  • the drivers of brand growth and business performance
  • leveraging global best practice and learnings
  • Co-leads the execution of the integrated activity schedule. Devotes particular attention to ensuring consistency across the BrandKey Vision and the overall communication strategy. Responsible to lead and deliver key elements of the implementation of brand marketing initiatives including working with agency partners.
  • Works with relevant stakeholders to approve the roll-out of NPD artwork ensuring local application as needed.
  • Creates and executes agency briefs for, POS material production (aligned with Brand visuals), Media plans (including Digital), PR, CRD.
  • Reports on & analyses all facets of brand performance vs targets/ KPIs. Is accountable for, Monthly share reports & commentary, ROMI reports, Digital trackers, and all other reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrates an ability to set relevant KPIs for key activities that take into account measuring ROI. Provides recommendations to improve campaign effectiveness based on performance monitoring.
  • Develops and manages a competitor intelligence database collating ranges, key activities, NPD, communication messaging, pricing etc.
  • Controls and guarantees 100% accuracy of budget spend and provides timely communication to relevant stakeholders on overspending / funds availability.
