JOB SUMMARY

Now, if you were to come on board as a Brands Manager (Food Retail), we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • You will be expected to consistently exceed assigned sales targets through the effective execution and management of a very extensive network of franchised partners.
  • You will create and drive compelling sales-building initiatives requiring you to leverage your expertise in the areas of:
  • Delivering superior consumer engagement
  • Driving average cheque increases
  • Accelerating transaction growth
  • Creation and communication of impactful upselling programs
  • Exceeding execution standards with a focus on speed of service improvements, while maintaining brand standards
  • You will ensure financial performance optimization of franchised portfolio by:
  • Garnering franchisor support in the development, maintenance and execution of a robust marketing and promotions calendar by providing “win-win” solutions for all parties
  • Becoming the trusted expert with the organization in the area of brand standards and proper brand execution, allowing you to assist in the training of new team members and provide consultation when required
  • Working closely with franchise partners to leverage brand sales building initiatives, while tailoring for the specific environments in which we operate
  • Obtaining required approvals for new development from franchise partners
  • Reviewing new business projects and providing recommendations for new builds that fit the sector/business requirements
  • Communicating price adjustments to units to ensure system-wide compliance
  • Completing audit evaluations of the external branded concepts, both independently and in partnership with franchise partners
  • Attending the required training for various brands and attaining brand certification
  • Working with internal stakeholders and brand representatives to achieve operational excellence at all levels
  • Measuring performance to ensure brands are operating at or above benchmarked KPIs
  • Compiling and communicating timely performance summaries to internal stakeholders
  • Managing and acting upon guest comments to ensure guest retention

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business/Marketing
  • Minimum 5 years’ multi-unit leadership experience with retail QSR brands (i.e. Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Second Cup, Subway)
  • Track record of success with retail brand execution and a history of driving sales in a branded environment
  • Strong financial acumen (P&L and day-part analysis)
  • Superior negotiating skills
  • Solid multi-tasking and time-management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience preferred operating within, or an understanding of the structure of, a third-party foodservice provider
  • Understanding of new development process, and experience bringing new sites from investigation and proof of concept through to opening, also preferred
