Description:
The main purpose of this post is to support the delivery of the NIHR Sheffield Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Training Academy and other NIHR-related training opportunities, deliver the BRC events which raise our profile and assist with related operational activity. To achieve this, the post holder will work with the Director, Academic Career Development Lead and Operations Manager of the BRC, as well as the Theme and Sub-Theme Leads, and teams across the partnership.
Other duties will be to work closely with other NIHR infrastructures within Sheffield, such as NIHR HRC D4D and the NIHR CRF, in line with the broader “One NIHR” approach to achieve effective coordination and communication across multiple arms of the NIHR infrastructure.
Supporting the Academic Career Development Lead to further develop the interdisciplinary BRC Training Academy (BTA)
Assisting with the organisation and delivery of clinical research-related training activities to members of the BTA and other trainees
Maintaining thorough records of trainees across the BRC, ensuring engagement with mandatory training activity
Supporting, monitoring and reporting on the increased NIHR Research Capacity through attracting high quality candidates by offering inclusive, high quality training with integral mentorship
Encouraging and supporting the alignment of research activities conducted by the BTA members to the BRC objectives
Supporting the BRC to increase its training capacity of non-medical staff (including but not limited to Internship programmes, technical training academies, SPARC placements and Postdoctoral staff)

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust’s legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.
