Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Research Nurse to play a vital role in translational research studies and clinical trials, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety while facilitating the implementation of innovative medical technologies. This post is funded by the NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) within the Biomedical Engineering Theme, co-led by Professor Anthony MJ Bull and Professor George Hanna.
Reporting to Professor George Hanna and other investigators, the Research Nurse will join a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, academics, and researchers to conduct first-in-human trials, facilitate effective communication among team members, patients and public, to gather essential data. The post holder will also provide expert advice on clinical research governances, ensuring that studies comply with clinical, ethical and financial standards, and aligned with the Theme’s strategy.
You will be positioned to strengthen partnerships with BRC collaborators and colleagues at NHS Trust (including HRC, CRUK centre, and Imperial Clinical Trials Unit) and lead patient and public involvement, engagement and participation (PPIEP) and equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) efforts specifically related to the Theme. Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in clinical research, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skill, is essential for this role.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

  • Develop and maintain trial protocols and associated documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate in the design of new care pathways and treatment regimens for patients and the public participating in translational clinical research and first-in-human trials.
  • Design and lead PPIE and EDI activities in collaboration with Theme PPIE leads and representatives from the Patient Experience Research Centre (PERC).
  • Collect, analyse and manage clinical study data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the Biomedical Engineering Theme staff across the College and external stakeholders, helping them shape their next steps.
