Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Bridge Engineer in our Edmonton office.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team active on several exciting bridge projects throughout Alberta. You will work with the Transportation Structures team carrying out detailed technical work and leading design teams while managing projects within the defined budget, and quality requirements. Our group is a vibrant, growing team with a passion for supporting the communities in which we live and work with technical expertise and a collaborative design philosophy. Our project teams are proud to have contributed to recent projects such as Edmonton’s Valley Line South LRT project, Southwest Anthony Henday Drive Upgrades, and 170th Street Pedestrian Bridge at West Edmonton Mall. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the structural team in analysis, design, evaluation and preparation of calculations and drawings.
  • Preparing technical reports following technical analysis, modelling, and design calculations.
  • Preparing proposals, bid and contract documentation.
  • Monitoring, controlling and reporting project status internally and externally.
  • Aiding in financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting, preparation, and allocation.
  • Providing guidance, including mentoring, and instruction, to junior staff.

Job Requirements:

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university; post-graduate degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in bridge engineering within the consulting industry.
  • Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Committed team player and highly self-motivated.
  • Related experience with Alberta Transportation and City of Edmonton is an asset.
  • This position will require occasional travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
