BROKER RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE
The Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta (IBAA) is offering this exciting opportunity for you to join our team! If you love meeting people and networking, then this is the job for you. As a Broker Relations Representative, you will build and maintain relationships with member and non-member insurance brokers to promote the IBAA and Sage Advisor Resources and available products and services in Alberta.
Under the direction of the Membership & Communications Manager, you will also promote IBAA’s value proposition to existing members, seek out new members throughout Alberta and service the Sage-managed IBAS (Saskatchewan) book of business. The person in this role will maintain a high level of product and service knowledge and be held to a high standard of confidentiality in dealing with clients and client information. You must have knowledge of various insurance products (E&O, Cyber, CGL & Property and Directors and Officers Liability), knowledge of insurance best practices and the ability to develop strong customer relationships. Your role involves working closely with the Sage Account Executive as a cohesive team of professionals and ambassadors for the products, brands and companies represented.
If you’re successful, you will:
- Build and maintain relationships with members across the province by organizing and attending monthly visits
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the membership, management, and insurance community
- Provide customers with presentations on the benefits and uses of IBAA/Sage goods or services in individual and group settings
- Attend to member inquiries complaints in a professional manner during visits
- Acquire new members to increase revenue, by cold-calling if necessary
- Assist in providing leads for new vendor partners for member perks
- Aid in promoting brand initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives of the IBAA
- Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner
- Keep up-to-date records on customer service visits, customer contacts, and details of meetings in a timely manner in the format required
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all activities to provide reports
- Assist with membership related inquiries via emails and phone calls
- Assist with updating member records in IBAA’s system
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the IBAA/Sage in a positive manner
- Maintain a high level of knowledge about IBAA/Sage’s products and services
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION
Level 1 license or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
Please note, if you only hold your level 1 license, you will need to complete your level 2 within one year of start date.
EXPERIENCE
3 – 5 years’ experience in insurance—commercial lines would be an asset
Sales and Marketing experience preferred
