Description:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience of managing a sales led commercial insurance team
  • A strong understanding of the Commercial insurance market is essential
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • At least 5 years previous broking experience with proven track record essential
  • Good aptitude to technology, Acturis and Microsoft products preferred
  • Desire to progress insurance qualifications preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility and resilience

THE ROLE:

To create a vibrant sales focused team where success and fun is a key driver.
The Cobra Network Broking Desk supports the member brokers by offering a wholesale broking facility that can be accessed either manually via telephone/email or digitally via the CobraQuote portal.
The broking desk is a combination of new team members and some longer serving colleagues. There is a need to build on the already created service led culture whilst bringing to the fore a sales focus that will enable the achievement of stretching revenue targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To create a strong sales and service led culture
  • To own and achieve the revenue budget for the broking desk
  • Developing strong relationships with members and Insurers connecting with key business executives and stakeholders
  • Develop and nurture a strong new business pipeline to ensure delivery of targets for both New Business
  • Existing business is pivotal to growing the Broking desk and retention targets are critical to the success of the Broking Desk
  • Engage with Strategic Account managers to ensure joined up and targeted approach with members
  • Manage the Broking Desk Team and be a referral point within the team, provide coaching, mentoring and workload management to ensure team members continuing development
  • Use of MI to open up opportunities, monitor and report on KPIs and regulatory requirements (e.g. New Business, contract certainty, overdue renewals, renewals issued in good time)
  • Create continual feedback loops around the Cobra proposition to ensure that the Cobra Value Added Proposition is market leading
  • Placement of all classes of Commercial Insurance and High Net Worth insurance into the market
  • Working closely with head of Digital Trading to drive placement of business via the Cobra Quote portal from members
  • Actively pursue self-development and ensure mandatory courses completed in good time
