QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Formal Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience executing large scale process improvement, quality management, systems implementation
  • Experience of working in a similar role in Quality/Production/Management in a Flexible Packaging, Food & FMCG, Pharmaceutical or Chemical, Automotive, manufacturing environment
  • Professional practice in project management in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Technical competencies in packaging, or industrial manufacturing, with an understanding of process capability and control.
  • Demonstrated history of successful change implementation or operation excellence and continuous improvement
  • Science, Packaging, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Excellence education
  • Certified Six Sigma Black or Green Belt (ASQ preferred)
  • Languages: English (fluent), other European languages would be an advantage
  • Clear understanding of regulatory requirements and standards, and ability to deploy requirements within a manufacturing environment. Standards include, but not limited to: ISO 9001, 22000, BRC, AIB, 14001, 45001.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

The Quality Manager of the CP&S Business Unit reports to the Quality Director of Amcor Flexibles EMEA and collaborate closely with Site GM’s and Operations leaders in the Business unit.
This is a leadership role in a high-level staff position, building a Quality and CI culture in a global business. The incumbent will operate and be attuned to diverse cultures, will have the ability to move quickly from strategy to execution, having the responsibility to manage, co-ordinate and lead sector wide quality initiatives and support Business Unit and Plant management teams in the deployment of Quality processes, systems and Continuous Improvement.
The incumbent will coach and provide expertise in Quality structure, processes, standards, regulatory and compliance standards for Quality, statistical process control (SPC) tools, Continuous Improvement and project management, and problem solving in a technical environment.
In the area of Quality Excellence, he/she will manage, coordinate and lead segment wide Quality improvement initiatives, coach and support the Business Unit in the execution of the quality program and provide expertise in quality management, quality improvement, quality systems, process control, SPC, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and project management and the implementation of effective CAPA programs.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • BU KPI Achievement and Improvement in critical to quality metrics; GQC (gross quality credits), QIR (quality incident rate) and CRT (customer response time).
  • Put the customer at the centre of everything we do
  • Administration of Business Unit and Customer reports and information, at a required frequency
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans and information systems for Quality and Operational Excellence
  • Implement standard ways of working at plants and BG level
  • Eliminate Recurring Defects through root cause problem solving an 100 year fixes
  • Create and align Best Practices, and drive Corrective and Preventative Actions to ensure compliance across all sites wherever applicable, within the BU, and across the BG.
  • Create consistent performance and practices across sites serving internal and external customers.
  • Improve sites where performance expectations are not on track through risk reduction programmes (PFMEA)
  • Ensure effective implementation of Corrective and Preventative Actions from all non-conformance types; internal and external complaints, risk assessments and audits, focus on high risk and recurring defects.
  • Ensure the Change Management Process is fully deployed and accountable
  • Drive Global and Site Quality Improvement Charters to completion
  • Assist plants with the Commercialization of new products; new business introduction and launch excellence.
  • Leverage best practice from high performing sites and implement improvements throughout Flexibles.
  • Monitor and improve Supplier performance in coordination with Procurement stakeholders
  • Audit and improve Quality management systems
  • Manage quality contracts with the customer
  • Driving implementation of central initiatives
  • Build a competitive case for change, and ensure that change management processes are adhered to.
