JOB DESCRIPTION
Section: Financial Planning and Budgeting
Division: Finance
Department: Corporate Services
Initial Reporting Location: Tom Davies Square
Job Status: Permanent Position
Affiliation: Inside Unit
Hours of Work: 70 hours bi-weekly
Shift Work Required: No
Range of Pay: Group 12 - $33.11 to $41.77 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS
- Community College Diploma in a related discipline (e.g. Accounting, Business Administration or related program).
- Completion of Municipal Accounting and Finance Program under AMCTO considered an asset.
- Over two and one-half (2½) years up to and including five (5) years of related experience in budgeting and/or accounting..
- Knowledge of budgeting and planning with particular reference to municipal budgeting.
- Knowledge of municipal finance function.
- Knowledge of accounting and internal control systems.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and related regulations.
- Demonstrate and proven ability related to microcomputer software applications and administrative systems (e.g. word processing, computerized spreadsheet applications, information input and retrieval, etc.).
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft/ERP systems.
- Ability to prepare operating budgets for CGS.
- Demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate work flow management ability.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent use of English, verbally and in writing.
- French verbal skills considered an asset.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history
- Physical capability to operate a vehicle safely, possession of a valid driver’s licence and acceptable driving record, will be considered an asset.

Development opportunity range of pay: $30.86 to $38.35 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced range until the minimum qualifications have been met.
