QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
- One (1) to three (3) years of accounting and/or budgeting experience preferred.
- Experience with school and/or governmental accounting preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Suite, PowerSchool BusinessPlus or experience with similar accounting software preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential and financial information with discretion and accuracy.
- Ability to perform functions based on own initiative and make decisions without direct supervision.
- Demonstrate strong problem solving and organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate, interact and work effectively with staff.
Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to the Director of Finance
- Responsible for providing departmental budget oversight and support to special education, instruction/curriculum, athletics and operations:
- Budget planning, development and review
- Process purchase requisitions
- Process registration and billings for professional development activities
- Monitor, analyze and reconcile actual expenses compared to budget
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Coordinate and communicate with budget users ensuring district policies and procedures are followed
- Review building general education budget to actual and communicate with buildings to keep within the set budget
- Review, reconcile and post substitute invoices
- Assist with month-end tasks such as journal entries and grant reporting, including grant draws
- Responsible for p-card reconciliation and posting and maintaining user accounts online
- Prepare financial analysis to support decision-making
- Maintain fixed asset schedules
- Perform detail reviews of cash receipts, invoicing and aging report to facilitate collections
- Assist in preparation for annual audit
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the CFO and the Director of Finance
- Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and projects a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups

SALARY Range $50,000 to $55,000; Commensurate with Experience
