QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of accounting and/or budgeting experience preferred.
  • Experience with school and/or governmental accounting preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Suite, PowerSchool BusinessPlus or experience with similar accounting software preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential and financial information with discretion and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform functions based on own initiative and make decisions without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving and organizational skills.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate, interact and work effectively with staff.

Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to the Director of Finance
  • Responsible for providing departmental budget oversight and support to special education, instruction/curriculum, athletics and operations:
  • Budget planning, development and review
  • Process purchase requisitions
  • Process registration and billings for professional development activities
  • Monitor, analyze and reconcile actual expenses compared to budget
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Coordinate and communicate with budget users ensuring district policies and procedures are followed
  • Review building general education budget to actual and communicate with buildings to keep within the set budget
  • Review, reconcile and post substitute invoices
  • Assist with month-end tasks such as journal entries and grant reporting, including grant draws
  • Responsible for p-card reconciliation and posting and maintaining user accounts online
  • Prepare financial analysis to support decision-making
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules
  • Perform detail reviews of cash receipts, invoicing and aging report to facilitate collections
  • Assist in preparation for annual audit
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the CFO and the Director of Finance
  • Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and projects a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups

    SALARY Range $50,000 to $55,000; Commensurate with Experience
