EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Associate Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting desired.
  • Minimum of two years of budget related experience.
  • Strong mathematical foundation and an analytical mindset.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning and Defense Travel System desired.
  • Must maintain the capability to communicate with their Supervisor and/or Manager when not in the office.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired, however candidates who are eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. If the selected candidate does not hold an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations on base.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to frequently traverse stairs.
  • Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Reaching, handling, and using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply Federal, Department of Defense, and Navy financial regulations, directives, and accounting principles to Navy programs.
  • Interface with clients daily to fulfill financial service requirements.
  • Maintain accuracy and financial integrity of data within databases.
  • Support all aspects of budget formulation and execution.
  • Prepare financial and progress reports.
  • Conduct financial reconciliations.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommended actions.
  • Prepare and present status briefs to a wide audience of stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review the accuracy of travel itineraries.
  • Research and provide compliance instructions for Federal Travel Regulations.
