Description:
We are seeking a Budget Manager in Santa Fe, New Mexico. As a Budget Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the budgeting process. You will be responsible for the financial assessment and monitoring of various projects and departments within the organization, ensuring that all financial activities align with the approved budget. This role will require you to liaise with different levels of management and present financial reports to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the assembly and application of a comprehensive budget across the organization.
- Monitor actual performance against budget estimates, making necessary adjustments.
- Coordinate appropriations for various departments and specific programs while ensuring the financial needs of the organization are met.
- Regularly review operating budgets to identify trends that may impact budget needs.
- Ensure that project and department milestones/goals align with approved budgets.
- Handle primary accounting functions for grant monitoring, administration, compliance, and financial reporting of awarded grants.
- Present budgets to Department Directors and Chief Financial Officer.
- Forecast major sources of revenue from local, state, federal levels of government, and private funding.
- Analyze a variety of financial information to provide direction, support, and recommendations, ensuring operations remain within budget.
- Monitor budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances, and related financial activities to ensure fiscal practices are adhered to.
- Prepare and analyze monthly Budget Status Reports (BSR) and quarterly SF-425 reporting.
- Work with departments on additional funding requests and adjustments using Budget Adjustment Request (BARs).
- Carry out Federal Programs Financial reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Budget Manager or in a similar role.
- The candidate should be adept at managing an Annual Budget and Budget Process.
- Experience working with Sage Intacct software highly desirable.
- Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting is essential.
- The candidate should have experience managing Foundation Grants.
- Previous experience working with Government Grants and Private Grants is required.
- The applicant must be familiar with FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board).
- The candidate should have knowledge of GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board).
- The applicant must be skilled in Daily Cash Management.
