Job Description
As the UK’s largest fibre-only network, and its only proven wholesale challenger, we’re busy setting new standards for what digital infrastructure can and should be.
Designed from scratch for the internet, our network is greener, more reliable and ready for the future. The products we provide over it not only lead the market on speed, value and service, they help businesses to innovate, provide entire communities with a better foundation for their digital lives and support economic growth, locally and nationally.
What does that mean for you? The opportunity to make internet connections (and daily life) a whole lot better, for a lot of people!
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Extensive experience in OSP (Outside Plant) Telecoms Network Build, including civils construction, cabling, splicing, and testing (OTDR/ILM).
- Proficient in both Blown and Traditional Cable installation techniques, with a strong understanding of industry standards.
- Demonstrable knowledge of method statements, risk assessments, and awareness of CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Familiarity with PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) processes and awareness of relevant regulations.
This is some of what you can expect to be doing:
- Ensure our build partner adheres to CityFibre specifications and consistently delivers high-quality work.
- Conduct and monitor weekly site inspections, joint measurements, and defect assessments to verify compliance with build specifications.
- Oversee and enforce adherence to Progressive Assurance audits, including the management of inspections via Depotnet.
- Proactively address design challenges and engineering issues during both planning and build stages, including pre-construction surveys and post-build processes.
- Manage workflow systems such as Depotnet, ensuring key milestones, including CityFibre DR processes, are met.
- Act as the face of CityFibre in interactions with the public and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive and professional approach to all enquiries
