Building Based Substitute

at  Dedham Public Schools

The Dedham Elementary Schools seek a permanent Building Substitute Teacher to fill a key support position in educating our students. The schools are looking for an energetic, highly organized, and dedicated professional who is committed to the high achievement of all students. There will be a position opening at each Elementary School. The successful candidates must possess demonstrated commitments to cultural competency, professional collegiality, respect for a diverse population of students and their families, and ongoing instructional improvement. This position reports to the principal or designee.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Minimum of an undergraduate college/university degree.
2. Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
3. Successfully complete a screening interview with the Dedham Public Schools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License
2. Experience in a school or community setting working with children
3. Elementary teaching experience

1. Assigned to rotate into various teaching and support positions in the school on a daily basis.
2. Implement teacher lesson plans and administrator directives with fidelity and efficiency.
3. Communicate with classroom teachers regarding expectations for student work, behavior, and lesson execution.
4. Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students.
