Position: Building IoT and Data Engineer

Reports To: Glen Myrland – Director, Building Technology & Data Analytics
The QuadReal Digital Buildings group was created to digitally transform QuadReal’s real estate portfolio – and the way we design, build and manage buildings. The group is responsible for all elements of technology in the built environment – from connectivity, to building systems & integrated “smart” platforms, to digital customer experiences. EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in a relevant technical field
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience with wireless IoT technologies
  • 5+ years of analytical experience (SQL, Python, or similar).
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills and tools

Responsibilities:

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Building IOT and Data Engineering Specialist is a key role in creating value from the significant amounts of data our buildings produce, and delivering on the value proposition that optimizing the use of our data lowers our costs and increases our financial returns. Responsibilities of this role include deploying technology in the built environment (including IoT sensors & building systems, connectivity platforms, and data management / analytical tools) and communicating and collaborating with internal stakeholders, as well as the management of external parties and vendors. Applicants will demonstrate analytical experience using tools such as databases and scripting languages to solve analytical problems and working with large scale IoT / sensor data and cloud technologies (AWS / GCP / Azure). A strong acumen managing both data projects, and projecting managing the deployment of IoT infrastructure will be required.
