QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ontario Fifth or Fourth Class Stationary Engineer’s Certificate or Building Operator Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years of experience required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, Electrical and control drawing
  • Knowledge of building automation system, chillers, boiler, water treatment & fire alarm system
  • Knowledge of Siemens fire alarm, pneumatic tube and Medical Gas System

Responsibilities:

KEY DUTIES

Operate chillers, cooling towers, steam boilers, hot water boilers and their auxiliary and ancillary equipment, promptly responds to their alarms, troubleshoots, fixes or isolates them.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on air compressors, air dryer, actuators, regulator, valves and control airlines as required
  • Acknowledge alarms and review computer printout of building automation, fire alarm, pneumatic tube, and medical gas systems; troubleshoot and try to clear alarms
  • Inspect plants equipment and facility’s mechanical rooms on a daily basis and fill out the necessary log sheets
  • Tests, calibrates, measures and adjusts control devices and space environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity and air flow through out the facility including patient isolation rooms.
  • Inspect and replace filters in AHUs, fan coils, AC units, medical air system, cooling and heating water systems and water treatment systems
  • Respond to trouble calls and perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical and electronic (nurse call bell) tasks
