POSITION SUMMARY:The purpose of this position is to provide a uniformed police presence to ensure the overall safety and security of the Branson City Hall for employees and those who are engaged in work-related business. This includes providing overall security for all offices and common areas within Branson City Hall. This position works under the supervision and reports directly to a Police Sergeant, and indirectly to a Police Lieutenant, the Assistant Police Chief, and the Police Chief.
WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm: Some Evening Hours
WORK LOCATION: City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall. This position requireswork to be performed onsite.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:The starting hourly wage is $24.42 perhour and will increase to$25.40per hour after 6 months of successful probation. Please clickonthis linkfor compensation/benefits information

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Successful completion of a Certified Law Enforcement Academy is required.
Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. Certificate as a condition of employment. Those candidates with certifications from other states will be allowed 30 days to receive P.O.S.T. Certification in the state of Missouri after the offer of employment is made.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience, municipal/court security, building security, or related field is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

Possession of CPR and First Aid certificates is preferred.

MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years of age at the start of employment.
Must be highly engaged in the department’s goals, and be able to work cooperatively with the City’s leadership in achieving those goals.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service to thoseinternal or external to the department.
Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet the City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the City of Branson’s motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green, and amber.
Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work.
Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings, a background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and medical/physical examinations.
