As a SHDF Building Surveyor at Longhurst Group, you will work across the complete Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) project and directly support improvement of our properties with a focus on multiple retrofit measures. Further key responsibilities are listed below:
- Responsible for the daily project management of the SHDF appointed delivery contractor, ensuring works completed under the SHDF are PAS2030 and PAS 2035 compliant for Trustmark accreditation and meet BEIS requirements for funding.
- Undertake property surveys, inspections, and the like and reporting on the outcomes to the necessary department, appointed Contractor or external partner. Update necessary systems as required.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budget for the SHDF project; raising orders and variations and agreeing interim/final accounts, maintaining/monitoring expenditure records, forecasting the budget spend.
- Undertake consultations and liaise with customers, stakeholder and tenant representatives. Attend meetings for Tenant Representative groups, as necessary.
In order to be successful in application for our SHDF Building Surveyor role, your CV will demonstrate a successful career within the social housing industry, and you will ideally be a member of RICS. We will also consider applicants from the wider property industry who can bring experience/ transferrable of general repairs and planned programme contract management or building surveying. Also, you will have working knowledge of affordable housing stock, TCP contracts and NHF7 schedules as well as HCA requirements, being able to take pathological approach to surveying. This role will require a highly organised individual who is driven by delivering positive outcomes to both properties and customers alike.
Our SHDF Building Surveyor role operates in a hybrid capacity contracted to 36.25 hours per week. To us, this means a minimum of 1 day p/week spent in either our Rushden, Peterborough or Boston offices for collaboration with colleagues across the Group, with the remainder of the week working from site with some flexibility for homeworking.
