Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. The Ministry also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.
The Realty Services Branch represents the primary real estate group within the provincial government. The Branch is transaction oriented and involves leasing and land negotiations (with external & internal stakeholders), producing and managing contract documentation and leading all financial operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

1 year certificate in Business or a related field plus 2 years of experience in leading financial operations in a supervisory capacity.
Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, Business Services, the Business Administration Officer plays a key role in the processing of financial transactions, compliance review, and maintenance of accounts related to the Leasing program. The position supports development of multi-year fiscal plans for Leasing and ensures timely and accurate reporting.
This position also oversees and trains staff members in preparation of financial transactions, managing data for accuracy, reviewing transactions prior to Finance submission, and supporting year-end and financial audits.

The primary responsibilities for the Business Admin Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain, prepare, monitor, and report on financial operations in accordance with contractual agreements and Departmental processes.
  • Facilitate and prepare the development and implementation of Leasing’s program multi-year fiscal plan.
  • Review/prepare expenditure forecasts and financial analysis for senior management’s review.
  • Lead staff in the preparation of fiscal year-end variance analysis, audit requirements and financial reporting.
  • Monitor work processes, administrative policies and procedures and adapt to new and changing business requirements.
  • Lead staff in the development of business processes to enhance the provision of financial and program information to support reporting and day to day operations.Direct and train staff in the delivery of leasing financial services.
