Description:

This post is for a fixed term of 12 months with the potential to move into a permanent Band 2 administration role on successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.
The post is for 30 hours per week over a five day rota.
This is a work-based training programme, with protected study time to complete a level 2 qualification in Business Administration. The programme is delivered on site with our training providers and in the workplace where you will be learning on the job while receiving training from experienced staff.
Based in the Cancer Services Team at Singleton Hospital, you will work under the direction and supervision of experienced staff to support the provision of services whilst working as a member of the team and maintaining a safe environment.
This is a training role within a designated area where the you will work alongside colleagues to undertake a range of supervised duties. The post holder will be responsible for scheduling appointments and liaising with patients and clinical staff to share information.
Swansea University Health Board in partnership with our training providers are offering the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in Business Administration at Level 2 within the Cancer Services Team based at Singleton Hospital.
This will consist of a work placement within the department, supported by teaching sessions to ensure that the apprentice has the relevant knowledge and skills to work effectively within the Health Board. This role is to support the staff within the Cancer Services Team with the running of the service and work towards successful completion of the apprenticeship qualification.
This role will involve working with the public and a wide range of staff groups.
Candidates should be self motivated, willing to learn and have a positive, can-do attitude and approach to be part of a team that delivers a high quality service to all.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST:

  • be aged 16+
  • be resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
  • not be in any form of formal government-funded education qualifications
  • have a good general standard of GCSE education or equivalent
  • not hold a Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration, a similar subject, or at an equivalent level
  • not have a Degree
  • be flexible within normal working hours (37.5 hours per week)
