Description:

  • A true partner role working alongside and with our operational business on all things finance
  • Be part of an iconic NZ organisation doing great things
  • Based in Highbrook, East Tamaki with 3 days office, 2 days work from home
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity for a Finance Business Advisor to join our team in Auckland (Highbrook).
As part of our wider finance team, you’ll report to the Finance Manager - CSD (Customer Service Delivery) and be responsible for a portfolio which sees you partnering with our largest business unit on key finance matters. You’ll support and drive them towards better outcomes around financial management, performance, investment and ongoing strategic and commercial management decisions.
You’ll draw on your management accounting or commercial background when it comes time for month end reporting and then working with the business around the insights and what it all means.
There will also be a variety of ad hoc and project work to get your teeth stuck into. Variety is the key in this role.
    Mōu - About you
Ideally, you’ll be an experienced management accountant, having cut your teeth in either a Big 4 environment or gained some commercial experience in medium to large sized organisations and be ready for your next step, or you’ll be a commercially savvy, operational person with a penchant for numbers.
Either way you’ll be curious by nature, you’ll seek to understand how the business ticks from a cost and value perspective, combined with a continuous improvement mindset, you’ll set about making things better.

You’ll couple this with

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to build strong relationships at all levels within the organisation
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to present information for a variety of audiences
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to build financial models, quickly analyse data and be adept at using a range financial systems and analytical tools

It goes without saying but we’ll say it anyway, a degree in finance or accounting is essential and if you added in a CA qualification that would be the icing on the cake.
