Description:
WORK LOCATION: REMOTE; ARLINGTON, VA (ONSITE QUARTERLY – AS CLIENT REQUESTED)
Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Business Analyst to support an IT portfolio within a PMO for one of our clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or an IT related field, which can be substituted for technical certifications or relevant experience
- Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 Years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner
- Knowledge of various agile business analysis techniques including interviewing, brainstorming, problem discovery, and MVP identification
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders at varied levels
- Experience in supporting business and project teams in translating complex business needs into user stories
- Ability to test user stories against acceptance criteria
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to ask probing questions to business team members
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in an environment leveraging the SAFe framework
- Active or recent previous DHS experience HIGHLY desired
- At least 1 year of experience in Product Management and/or Product Development
- Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset
- Expertise in transforming and building end-to-end environments using DevOps to integrate, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and operate multiple systems
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate directly with Product Management, consisting of client leadership, the Release Train Engineer, designers, and additional Business Analysts
- Decompose and document large initiatives into smaller features and user stories
- Write user stories that clearly describe the desired business outcome and contain non-prescriptive – but testable - Acceptance Criteria that enables teams to define the best solution
- Assist the Product Management team in prioritization of the Program Backlog
- Present documented features and user stories to stakeholders for feedback.
- Suggest product improvements or enhancements to increase end-user satisfaction
- Facilitate and lead meetings with various internal and external stakeholders
