CONTEXT:
Sanctus Solutions is currently expanding its team in preparation to submit a comprehensive proposal for a large, three-year project in response to a Request for Proposal (RFP). This initiative represents a significant opportunity, and we are seeking highly qualified professionals to join our team. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the education or public sector, as these areas are critical to the success of the project. Candidates should be comfortable with their resumes being shared with the client as part of the proposal submission process.
SUMMARY
As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for improvement across business processes, technology implementations, and organizational strategies. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, recommend and implement process enhancements, and ensure the successful delivery of business solutions. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, process optimization expertise, and strong communication abilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalencies related to education and work experience will be considered).
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis, business process improvement, or a similar role, preferably in an IT or professional services environment.
- Experience working in the education or public sector is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders from various departments and translate business needs into actionable solutions.
- Business analysis certifications or designations are considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Business Process Analysis: Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in current business processes. Develop recommendations for process enhancements such as streamlining workflows, automating tasks, or implementing new technologies.
- Documentation and Modeling: Create clear and concise documentation of business processes, including flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, and written descriptions. Utilize relevant modeling techniques such as Use Case, Swim Lane, Activity, Business Process Modeling Diagram, and Data Flow Diagram.
- Business Case Development: Lead business units through the development of business cases, working with senior management to obtain approval through a gated portfolio process. Ensure that the benefits defined in business cases are realized by using baseline models and performance statistics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including business users, IT professionals, project managers, and senior management, to ensure that business needs are met and that process improvements are successfully implemented.
- Requirement Gathering and Documentation: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, translating business needs into functional and technical requirements. Responsible for creating accurate business requirements documents and obtaining stakeholder and senior management approval.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Define the UAT strategy for projects and lead the UAT associated with projects. Develop or support the development of UAT test cases and ensure the successful completion of testing.
- Solution Implementation and Support: Help select and implement appropriate software solutions, whether off-the-shelf or custom-built. Participate in testing, create documentation, and train users on new systems or processes. Support system maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Continuous Improvement: Track the effectiveness of process improvements and measure their impact on business goals. Lead cross-functional business process re-engineering teams and continuous improvement efforts to exploit technology, eliminate redundant tasks, and minimize duplication of effort.
