Description:

SUMMARY:

The purpose of the Business Analyst is to gather and analyze company data to identify needs and recommend solutions. They work across their clients’ teams to eliminate redundancies and improve efficiency. The Business Analyst identifies vulnerabilities in the company’s processes and devise data-driven solutions for improvements. As the liaison between IT and management, Business Analyst’s convert the findings of data specialists and programmers into practical remedies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience with business requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, computer science, finance, or information systems (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience assisting with the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in a user-friendly language.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to issues and risks as required.
  • Clear understanding of product management and project management.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including planning, organizing details, and managing time.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

  • Gathers, reviews and analyzes business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools.
  • Translates conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to business departments and project teams.
  • Liaises between various business departments and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Works with business departments to establish scope and parameter of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Conducts reviews of the business requirements to ensure that system requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.
  • Manages competing resources and priorities.
  • Manage projects, develop project plans, and monitors performance.
  • Maintains documentation regarding various projects, processes and operations.
  • Works on enhancing the delivered solutions for improved efficiency.
  • Updates, implements, and maintains procedures.
  • Special projects as requested by your supervisor.
  • Stays up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Continues to learn about how the business operates via discussions, “sit ins” and branch visits.
  • Provides leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff.
  • Reviews current IT solutions to ensure features and functions meet requirements.
  • Participates in the selection of any requirements documentation software solutions that the organization may opt to use.
  • Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes/systems.
