We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Analyst to join our Hotel Pricing Optimisation Squad within our Advanced Analytics tribe. This is a pivotal role which will help drive key initiatives aimed at improving guest experience and value perception through strategic pricing optimisation. The role will combine a strong customer focus with the latest techniques & methodology, to contribute meaningfully to our Advanced Analytics vision of “An Endeavour where data and AI fuel people across the group to create our more sociable future”.
The ideal candidate will be fascinated by how systems and services influence guest value in front of house interactions, this may be informed by retail, commercial, hospitality or other relevant industry experience in Australia. This role will involve collaboration with the product manager, internal SMEs, and specialist data roles, within the squad, and across other squads in Advanced Analytics to ensure the outcomes delivered are desirable, feasible and viable. The Business Analyst will also assist in managing stakeholder relationships with our key customers in ALH Hotels (part of the Endeavour Group).
Your skills in business analytics—particularly in collaboration, facilitation, and documentation—will make you a central “go-to” figure between our business and development teams. As you will be working within a squad, you will establish and drive best practices for business analysis as applicable to the squad goals, while maintaining open communication with other squad members.

  • Collaboration - Discussing and messaging the Product Manager and/or Delivery Lead to align on priorities and needs throughout the day, formulate the squad backlog, and/or design squad or term planning events
  • Curious and collaborative conversations with business SMEs or stakeholders to understand the user value of solving problems and opportunities in the current state
  • Evaluation, analysis, and communication of business requirements captured in clear documentation, showcasing current and future state processes
  • Engagement with Subject Matter Experts and internal specialists to understand operational and implementation requirements so that we can ensure successful delivery of customer value
  • Engagement with change management and operational teams to understand impact of our deliverables on venues and staff to minimise change resistance
  • Engagement with technical squad members to understand solution feasibility
  • Participating in validating outcomes to ensure the deliverables meet the user’s needs.
  • Facilitation - Facilitating backlog refinement with the squad, leveraging a high-level understanding of advanced analytics tools and software development
  • Identifying emerging squad needs, and facilitating access to the right stakeholders, end users, or resources to answer them
  • Engaging with and facilitation of SMEs and other Tribe/Squad engagement to support delivery when required
  • Identifying and proposing squad process enhancements to elevate efficiencies, collaboration, or inclusivity
  • Documentation - Responsible for selecting the appropriate level and location for documentation e.g. wiki, Google Slides, Jira, to suit the communication needs of the audience
  • Creating and refining epics and stories aligned to customer and business problems, including user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria
  • Adding to stories in the backlog as knowledge and detail expand and evolves

Qualifications

  • Proven business analysis experience with customer front of mind

  • Strong documentation skills; able to create detailed and effective user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and process maps
  • Analytical problem solver; able to navigate and own complex problems while keeping an eye on the big picture
  • Strong communicator; able to develop relationships using sharp communication skills and an enthusiastic, positive attitude
  • Demonstrated experience applying an agile product mindset
  • Desired but not essential - Experience within retail, Hotel or related field
  • Experience working with, or a high-level understanding of, data analytics tools and methods and business intelligence visualisation tools
  • Experience gathering customer research and communicating insights, including drawing relevance to technical outcomes
  • Establishing relationships for new data products and processes being launched (in replacement to manual methods in use)
