POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO), the Business Analyst will serve as the liaison between the business owners and the technical development team. This person will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, validating, specifying, verifying, and managing the business needs of the project stakeholders, including customers and end users. The successful candidate will work closely with business units, subject matter experts and technical resources to identify business needs, define current and future workflows, develop requirements and help with the development effort to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis (current/future), process mapping, and/or requirements workshops.
  • Communicate clearly (verbal and written) with business units that rely on that information to define system requirements or organizational processes.
  • Translate business requirements to functional design documents to transfer the knowledge to the technical team.
  • Prepare and document Functional and Technical Design specifications in adherence to the standard methodology.
  • Respond to and perform impact analysis on requests, expected to assist with estimates.
  • Act effectively as the technical speaker to the business project team, able to represent IS at all levels within the business stakeholder community.
  • Review and/or prepare system documentation and specifications in accordance with methodology.
  • Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
  • Facilitate requirements prioritization based on organizational strategic priorities and values.
  • Ability to lead internal stakeholders, subject matter experts and project teams.
  • Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status throughout the project.
  • Manage changes to requirements through effective use of change control processes and tools.
  • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines, schedules, and methodologies.
