SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A proven track record of defining and delivering complex optimisation initiatives
  • Extensive London Market/ General Reinsurance business analysis experience
  • Extensive experience of understanding the relationships, dependencies and impacts of change on multiple systems, teams and processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working in large organisation – multi-national preferable but not essential
  • Experience of formal change structure and disciplines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • French and German speaking desired

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Business Analyst is responsible for contributing to the execution of operating model improvement initiatives, in line with strategy, across LM Re. The role holder will play an important role in documenting the current state processes (including where people, data and tech are utilised) and defining the future state. The Business Analyst will help to foster a culture of ongoing and sustainable change through the embedding of process reengineering and optimisation techniques.
The Business Analyst will play a key role in helping to define and move LM Re towards their future state. This will include understanding the data required across the business, defining the most appropriate source for the data and designing a process around an improved, optimised user journey. The analyst will carry out requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation tasks to ensure that each initiative delivers the ideal solution for the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ownership:

  • Evaluate existing and proposed business processes through the definition of best practices and standards.
  • Document and evaluate current data availability and adequacy. Work with the business to determine what data is foundational and essential, and where required, how to plug any gaps identified.
  • Support the Business Architects and Consultants on the definition of tactical and strategic options to improve LM Re’s efficiency.
  • Help to shape LM Re’s change roadmap, in order that is supports the Target Operating Model.
  • Work with the Business Architects to ensure the business impact and dependencies are identified, reported on and managed at all times.
  • Keep abreast of, and understand the impact of, market processes and initiatives that potentially could impact LM Re’s operations.

Run:

  • Lead and facilitate workshops / interviews to drive ideas and solutions
  • Delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of improved ways of working, including the use of data and technology assets.
  • Actively identify potential risks and issues with those initiatives and manage their resolution.
  • Identify trends and cross geography / line of business process variations as part of establishing best practice.
  • Elicit requirements and drive process change using the appropriate techniques, such as: staff interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, data flow analysis and workflow analysis.
  • Produce outputs that clearly articulate issues, impacts, opportunities and summarise findings for senior management.
