Reporting to the Manager, Business Performance and Analytics, the Business Analyst is a business solution professional responsible for supporting all functions under Facilities Management and Development (FMD) by converting simple and complex business requirements into processes, procedures, information and technology solutions. The position is responsible for assessing and evaluating IT-related business requirements from all sections in FMD and translating those requirements into system solutions, processes, and methodology to ensure efficient delivery of essential services at NAIT. The Business Analyst combines in-depth analysis, requirements gathering and evaluation, assessment skills, project management skills, and strong communication skills, with an understanding of FMD’ operations to be able to design, implement, and deploy integrated leading-edge business and information technology solutions. The position supports FMD with information, reports, implementation of new systems, upgrading of existing systems, and other services as required. Moreover, one of FMD’s goals is becoming a data-driven business unit where employees can apply their knowledge, draw insights, make the best possible decisions, and to provide executive with effective presentation of data to support strategic decision-making. This role will support the adaptation, optimization, and evolution of FMD business processes. This role will help in ensuring that FMD has timely access to high-quality information and analysis required for strategic planning, performance tracking, reporting, and support data-driven decisions to improve performance.

Ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders to assess and develop business requirements and solutions.
Ability to facilitate meetings with end users for issue definition, process mapping, and process design activities.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems and make sound decisions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Project management skills
Extensive knowledge and experience with various systems and tools such as Power BI, AiM (AiM Operations & Maintenance, AiM Capital Planning and Project Management, AiM Space Management, AiM ReADY Request, and AiM Go), Visio, SharePoint, Workday, Bonfire, ServiceNow, and PeopleSoft.
Extensive knowledge in the areas of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data and statistics using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Strong oral and written communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. Equivalencies may be considered.
Academic certification in the Business Analysis program is strongly preferred.
At least five years of directly related experience as a Business Analyst
Experience in the Facilities Management industry is a strong asset.
Extensive knowledge of business analytics, business intelligence, and data analytics solutions is preferred.
Extensive experience in various AssetWorks AiM systems is an asset.
Knowledge of acts, legislation, issues, practices, and management of privacy and security of data for reporting and analytics is an asset.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $74,793.16 to $99,084.96 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities:

Gather, assess and evaluate business requirements from FMD business units and translate those requirements into business and system solutions. Solutions may take the form of recommendations for the implementation of a new system, process change, design specifications for reports or system changes, requests for system enhancement, expanded use of existing functionality, or custom data queries, reports, and analysis.
Utilize a variety of tools and systems to execute and/or design simple and complex queries and reports to produce essential data, KPIs, and dashboards from various FMD systems and tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, Visio, AiM systems (AiM Operations & Maintenance, AiM Capital Planning and Project Management, AiM Space Management, and AiM ReADY Request), Workday, Bonfire, ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, and other FMD systems as required.
Act as project lead for FMD in IT-related projects by coordinating, defining requirements, identifying project milestones, phases, monitoring, and other elements of a project. Support projects from conception to implementation and address gaps and issues that may impact timelines and quality.
Work closely with FMD units to report problems, design new systems, recommend enhancement of existing systems, business intelligence, and complete data integrations.
Develop and execute test plans and test scenarios to test new systems, modifications, enhancements, customizations, product upgrades, and new functionality.
Develop materials and deliver end-user training on FMD business processes. Develop and maintain end-user process documentation, standard operating procedures, processes and other procedures related to the operation and use of FMD systems.
Coordinate and evaluate IT-related project requests from various FMD units.
Maintain FMD website and provide expertise for FMD systems.
