COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Viscofan is a global leader in the production of casings for the food industry, renowned for our commitment to innovation, quality, and excellence in customer service. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our team at Viscofan Canada. This position is critical in driving operational efficiency, managing data analysis systems, and leading a team to optimize business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management and a keen understanding of distribution business dynamics, with the ability to ensure that key business information is accurate and accessible.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Business Analyst will report directly to the COO and support overseeing the teams within the company, overseeing the accuracy of critical data and supporting operational success. This role will focus on utilizing SAP Hana for data integrity, streamlining reporting systems, and ensuring operational forecasting and demand are properly managed. The role will also require developing pricing tools and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive process improvement initiatives. Occasional travel to our plants in the USA and Mexico for training purposes will also be part of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A university diploma or relevant experience in Business Analysis, Data Management, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SAP Hana, particularly in managing orders, forecasts, and upcoming demand, ensuring data accuracy and alignment.
- Advanced Excel skills for creating pricing tools, manipulating data, and producing actionable reports.
- A solid understanding of the distribution business model, ideally within the food industry or a similar sector.
- Basic understanding of transfer pricing and its application to pricing strategies and reporting.
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of professionals.
- Bilingual in English and French (both written and spoken) is required.
- Previous experience in the casing industry or a similar manufacturing/distribution environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with artwork file management is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel for training and business-related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Operations Management:
- Lead and manage a team of individuals, ensuring effective collaboration and high performance in delivering operational goals.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering continuous development and team growth.
- Data Management & SAP Hana Expertise:
- Utilize SAP Hana to ensure that blanket orders, forecasts, and upcoming demand are accurately entered and well-maintained in the system by the teams involved.
- Reconcile blanket orders, monitor their accuracy, and ensure that customer blanket POs that have expired are flagged and that appropriate actions are taken.
- Regularly monitor and validate critical data entries to ensure consistency and alignment with business needs.
- Collaborate with teams to update SAP Hana with accurate, timely, and reliable data to support operational decision-making.
- Reporting Systems & Process Improvement:
- Design, implement, and manage robust reporting systems to support internal stakeholders, focusing on operational insights and performance optimization.
- Leverage advanced Excel skills to develop data reports, create pricing tools, and manipulate data for business analysis and pricing decisions.
- Identify areas for operational improvements within the data management system and make recommendations for enhancing efficiency and data integrity.
- Prepare and present detailed reports, highlighting key trends, issues, and actionable insights to senior management.
- Pricing Tool & Workbook Development:
- Create pricing tools or workbooks that allow input of product specifications and automatically generate pricing based on predefined criteria.
- Develop customized solutions that optimize pricing processes and ensure accuracy across the organization.
- Transfer Pricing & Financial Analysis:
- Apply a basic understanding of transfer pricing to assist in setting internal pricing structures, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Support the finance team in maintaining consistent and transparent transfer pricing practices.
- Artwork & Documentation:
- Experience with managing artwork files and associated documentation is beneficial, ensuring that visual assets are accurate and aligned with product specifications.
- Training & Development:
- Participate in training programs at Viscofan plants in the USA and Mexico, gaining deeper knowledge of our product offerings and refining leadership skills.
- Conduct training sessions for team members, ensuring high levels of system proficiency and quality output.
- Encourage continuous team development to achieve both individual and organizational goals.
- Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to Viscofan locations in the USA and Mexico to participate in training and operational initiatives.
