About the Role
Teranet is currently looking for a Business Analyst/Product Owner for a 1 year contract with a strong background in building user centric products.
To be a great fit, you will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be creative, possess the ability to think outside the box, leverage business process and research data and effectively collaborate with Product team and stakeholders to succinctly articulate client, product, and business needs. You will be able to transform them into clear actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for agile development and quality assurance.
Additionally, you will proactively identify, troubleshoot root cause, and escalate potential issues and risks as required, ensuring regular communication between business and technical teams to drive solutions and eliminate blockers to a smooth product development and delivery process.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ensure that all deliverables are provided on time, in line with specifications of the project plan and as coordinated with team leadership and key project stakeholders.
  • Manage Product backlog, review and accept developed user stories, ensuring they meet the defined acceptance criteria and quality.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams to inform test strategy, conduct User Acceptance Testing both internally and with external stakeholders to ensure developed features and improvements executed in the applications meets business requirement and readiness for deployment.
  • Participate in Agile events, including daily scrums, sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with ESR and Service Design leadership to improve requirement elicitation and backlog management processes while participating to co-create policies and programs that support user-centric product development practices.
  • Contribute to the growth of Business Analysis/Product Owner practices at Teranet by actively participating in a collaborative, supportive, challenging, and innovative environment while proactively offering well-thought-out ideas and solutions to existing problems.
  • Always demonstrate professionalism and be a great ambassador of the Teranet Team with all stakeholders.

About You

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a Business Analysis or relevant role (i.e. Business Analyst, Business System Analyst, Product Owner).
  • Required experience working on multiple complex enterprise-wide systems and projects facilitating requirement elicitation and documentation process.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into actionable artifacts detailed enough to meet users’ needs and easily interpreted by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adequate knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and processes
  • Proven track record of delivering agile solutions as a Product Owner and/or Business Analyst
  • CBAP® or similar certification preferred.
  • Ability to highly function in a fast-paced environment dedicated to continuous improvement.
  • Strong critical thinking, with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be an enthusiastic collaborator and be open to feedback.
  • Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative and cross-functional agile team.
  • Proficient knowledge of collaboration and defect management tools (e.g. JIRA and Confluence) is required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and pivot in response to evolving business and clients’ needs and constraint.
  • Must be able to efficiently manage or work on multiple projects/assignments at the same time.
