Responsibilities:

THE ROLE WILL ASSIST IN THE:

  • The facilitation of business analysis activities to support project delivery and capability uplift.
  • Support business-as-usual functions by analysing data, requirements, identifying opportunities, and proposing solutions.
  • Engage actively in the Business Analysis Community of Practice to share knowledge, best practices, and foster continuous improvement.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance business analysis practice services and uplift the capabilities of our business analysis community.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the branch, Hospital and Health Services and Queensland health departments to gather requirements, conduct analysis, and provide support to the business analysis community.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, templates, and tools to support capability uplift, best practice alignment and support project delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS as outlined above.
  • Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Assist with the collation and analysis of ‘As-Is’ and ‘To-Be’ business process models using approved methods and tools.
  • Assist with the development of business and software requirements specifications for IM/ICT projects, ensuring traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with other Queensland Health teams to ensure business/software requirements are incorporated and fit for purpose. Assist with stakeholder engagement, assessment and the development of a stakeholder matrix, and ongoing stakeholder management.
  • Perform administrative functions and other duties as directed by the Management.
  • Interpret business and user requirements and research possible application of the information systems solution to optimise local and enterprise-wide business outputs.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Experience performing or assisting with business analysis activities on IM/ICT program/project(s), preferably in the health care industry. (SFIA Skill: BUAN: Level 3)
  • Knowledge and ability to apply business process modelling techniques, such as ‘As-Is’ and ‘To-Be’ business process models, preferably using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN). (SFIA Skill: BSMO: Level 3)
  • Knowledge in and ability to develop business and software requirement specifications, ensuring traceability preferably aligned with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge Version 3.0 (BABOK). (SFIA Skill: REQM: Level 3)
  • Knowledge in, and an ability to provide expert advice on, the application of appropriate business analysis techniques, methodologies and tools, preferably aligned with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge Version 3.0 (BABOK). (SFIA Skill: METL: Level 4)
  • Experience in researching, analysing and documenting business requirement specifications and software requirement specifications.
  • Experience in developing quality written analysis documentation.
  • Proven effective written and oral communication skills for use in a program/project environment.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relations ships with team members and stakeholders.
