The Core Insurance Platform team, with a specialisation in Claims in Santam BITS (Business Information Technology Services), is looking for a Business Analyst situated in the Western Cape (Bellville).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree related to business analysis and information systems e.g. B. Com
• Relevant Tertiary qualification or certificate/diploma in Business Analysis from an industry recognized training institution (FTI Diploma would beneficial)
• 5 years and more experience as Business Analyst
• Experience with working in an agile environment e.g. Scrum, managing product backlogs and writing user stories
• Experience in the use of software and process modeling methodologies and tools
• Experience working with Atlassian (Jira and Confluence) advantageous
• Experience in workshop facilitation and communication with stakeholders both internal and external and at different levels of the organisation
• Experience in the use of project management techniques and methodology advantageous
• Experience in the short-term insurance industry advantageous
• Delivering results and meeting customer expectations
• Relating and networking

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Analyst plays a key role in structuring solutions across the Claims enterprise. You are competent in shaping business initiatives and Change Requests into implementable business solutions.
You will play a key role in applying the agile approach to support the Claims product owners in analysing the business domain, defining ideal solutions to enable the strategy and building and grooming the product backlog.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consult with business to identify business problems and opportunities
• Assist with conceptualization, proposal of solution and business case development
• Analyse and decompose relevant business processes and understand the impact on business
• Elicit, analyse, document and maintain business requirements and functional specifications
• Administration, planning and organizing of work to ensure successful and on time delivery
• Ensure that solutions deliver on business expectation
• Participate in quality assurance and user acceptance testing
• Investigate production incidents and change requests to identify solutions and work with development team to implement solutions
• Provide support and collaborate with project management, change management, training, design, development and testing competencies
• Comply with company policies and procedures, standards and methodologies
• Stay current on industry practices and trends in the short term insurance and digital environments and contribute innovative ideas for the use of technology and improvement of processes
