Position Reports to: Manager Data & Analytics
Job Location: Ottawa
Salary: $80,000-$95,000CAD
SkyAlyne is a proud partnership between Canadian aviation and defence leaders, CAE and KF Aerospace, formed to provide a truly Canadian solution for Canada’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program, Canada’s next-generation military aircrew training program.
SkyAlyne has been selected as contractor for the FAcT Program. The program will be managed from the National Capital Region (Ottawa), with three operational locations: Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; Southport (Portage la Prairie), Manitoba; and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The scope of the FAcT Program contract includes all training and in-service support requirements needed to prepare Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers, and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators to meet the future aerospace requirements of the Royal Canadian Air Force. In collaboration with the Government of Canada and several major Canadian subcontractors, SkyAlyne will provide live-flying, simulator and classroom-based training, facilities construction and management, information management and information technology support, site support services, aircraft maintenance and much more.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Management, Business or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, with a focus on data and analytics, system implementation, and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in business process modeling, data analysis, and requirements gathering.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Proficiency in ETL processes and data modeling, ensuring comprehensive data integration and efficiency.
  • Experience in performance monitoring, data quality assessment, and continuous tracking to maintain high standards of data integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with subcontractor teams.
  • Ability to independently navigate ambiguous environments, drive clarity from evolving requirements, and propose effective solutions.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to hold a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Secret level).
  • Ability to hold Government of Canada site/information access certifications, including accessing Protected “B” information, Controlled Goods Clearance, and ITAR Clearance.
  • Experience in the Defence and Aerospace industries would be an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Document business requirements and map data sources to ensure comprehensive data coverage.
  • Design and document data flows to ensure seamless data integration across systems.
  • Create and track data quality and performance assessments to ensure accurate data delivery.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting packages to provide actionable insights.
  • Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for enhancing data and analytics capabilities.
  • Develop data governance policies and standards such as data quality, consistency, roles & responsibilities and metadata management.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to implement self-service tools and solutions for business users to access and analyze data independently.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical teams to ensure alignment between data management and analytics initiatives.
