POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated health professional to contribute to our organizational mission.
Reporting to the Manager, Special Project – EMR, the Business Analyst role is responsible for acting as a liaison and advisor between the business units and the EMR Project team ensuring information systems interoperability in accordance with agency policy. This individual will work with contributors on complex business needs and make recommendations to advance business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3-year diploma or degree in Business or Information Technology specializing in Business Analysis.
  • Diploma in Project Management would be an asset.
  • Must Possess relevant experience in EMR/EHR or e-Health solutions.
  • Experience in gathering and documenting requirements and processes
  • Experience in translating business processes into technical specifications
  • Experience in stakeholder level communication and expectation management
  • Experience in leading QA and UAT cycles
  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle
  • Knowledge of SharePoint would be an asset.
  • Experience with change management.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, time management and analytical skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and assignments.
  • Ability to explore, assess and promote new methods and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function cooperatively in a multidisciplinary field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced oral and written proficiency in English is essential.
  • Advanced oral and written proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Maintains current Ontario driver’s license and has access to a reliable vehicle with agency required insurance in order to fulfill position requirements on an occasional basis.
  • Satisfactory police reference check in accordance with agency policy for those for which this is required.
  • Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Map business requirements to business objectives.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements for assigned projects.
  • Assist in drafting technical requirements and transferring knowledge to and from technical resources and users within each area.
  • Work and communicate effectively with teams/divisions, user groups, IT teams, vendors and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and establish current workflows and processes.
  • Conduct market research to evaluate IT tools, technologies, and vendors.
  • Work with the IT Systems Analyst and other members of the IT team to identify software and applications for upgrades, new application implementations and conversions.
  • Review and/or create training materials and coordinate training programs and workshops. Assist in the development, implementation and support of project management plans, processes and guidelines.
  • Work with the IT team and business users to build test cases and lead the User acceptance testing activities.
  • Support the rollout of new tools, standards and best practices throughout the organization using collaboration, facilitation and change management skills.
  • Develop, manage and modify artifacts, documentations, prototypes, workflow solutions in SharePoint and MS Teams.
  • Assist the project manager in gathering and communicating status updates from project participants to ensure timelines and milestones are being met.
  • Report generation and creation for third party applications and software as required.
  • Assist in creating and updating documentation for supporting systems.
  • Engage the business to identify needs and required changes to business processes and systems through data analysis.
  • Manage detailed business requirement phases, identifying, tracking, and resolving business issues.
  • Resolve complex conflicts/issues and escalate as appropriate.
  • Contributes to the development of program plans and develops, plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates assigned projects in consultation with the manager and other team members as required.
  • Participates in the orientation of staff, students, volunteers, and others as may be required for the position.
  • Acts as a main contact between business units, information technology and project or team leads.
