JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Business Process Automation and Application Development team within Canadian Operations Business Excellence is a team of highly skilled technical professionals who deliver solutions that automate manual, repetitive processes. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of Operations functions so staff can focus on more value driven decision support and analytics. Our solutions span a range of technologies including Pega Robotics, Microsoft .NET, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SQL Server.
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and energetic Business Analyst who is focused on delivering automated solutions that provide business value through innovation and collaboration. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, instinctively seek out innovative solutions, and view challenges as opportunities.
As a Business Analyst, you will work in an agile environment playing a key role in delivering an improved client experience while increasing operational efficiency through automation. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of diverse projects. The Business Analyst will work in a client-centric environment that ensures excellent service delivery for all our internal clients. This role will be responsible for gathering and defining business needs, setting project scope, creating detailed business requirements for implementation by software developers, creation and execution of test plans, system documentation and training/transition of projects to the support team.

Notes/Unique Requirements:

• Some project work may be required outside of regular office hours to support critical time lines and/or critical deliverables
• This role requires Canadian Enhanced Reliability Security clearance [a minimum of 5 years of consecutive residency in Canada]

• Collaborate with business partners and project team to refine process automation opportunities into tangible and executable solutions
• Play a key role as part of an Agile Development team translating business needs and wants into clear and concise business requirements for application development
• Actively engage in assessing business value, risk, and priority of solutions with business partners and the project team
• Communicate in clear and concise business language details of technical solutions and decisions made by the development team, ensuring solutions and decision implications are well understood by Product Owners and business partners
• Take responsibility to ensure a quality product, by creating and executing test plans to validate that solutions meet requirements, performance, and stability specifications
• Proactively recognize business trends and/or Company policies that affect Business Practices and make recommendations for process/system enhancements

What you need to succeed:

• University degree technology or Business
• Proven Business Analysis competency, understanding business drivers, eliciting business requirements, and effective documentation skills
• Business analysis experience (processes & techniques) and/or equivalent industry experience
• Knowledge of business process analysis principles
• Knowledge of effectively designing application user interface
• Skills with Automated Testing, preferably with Tosca an asset
• As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

Assets:

• Experience working in an Agile environment
• UX / UI design experience
• Experience optimizing business processes
• Knowledge of Robotic Automation, in particular Pega Robotics

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
