Sunbury Transport Limited is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Business Analyst at their Saint John, NB location. This position will appeal to those who like to work in a fast-paced environment, enjoy being in the field and have a high standard for their work. The Business Analyst delivers full data analysis projects from data extraction, (using various sources including SQL databases), to data preparation (data cleaning and the union of various data sources), integrity checks (including the detection of outliers), feature engineering, modeling, and finally, visualizing and presenting impactful insights.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop understanding of business processes and analyze operational data to support daily management, decision making, and building alerts;
- Understand key metrics and build dashboards to enable efficient and effective management;
- Financial & statistical analysis and recommendations to support decision making;
- Support and participate in Continuous Improvement projects;
- Ad hoc and project work;
- Analysis presentation to stakeholders;
- Develop and implement process automation throughout the business;
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate university degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline;
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;
- Experience working with relational databases accompanied by an understanding of ETL methods & processes;
- Experience working with Tableau or other data visualization and analytics tools such as: Minitab, SPSS, Alteryx, or Power BI;
- Experience with Microsoft Power Services;
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
- Strong organizational skills and a high sense of urgency & curiosity;
- Strong communication & presentation skills;
- Experience in transportation and logistics would be considered an asset.
