WSD is a leading financial services firm that leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver innovative solutions to the market. We work with a wide range of solutions supporting the structured products industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our dynamic team.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Business Analyst with a strong background in finance and a focus on quantitative analysis, technology, market data, and structured products. The successful candidate will work closely with the Product Owner to manage Jira boards, draft and refine tickets, and support developers in understanding the detailed implementation of requirements. You will be instrumental in translating complex topics from industry forums and client discussions into executable tasks for the development team.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications in finance or technology is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in a business analyst role, ideally within banking, asset management, or other financial services environments (buy-side or sell-side).
- Solid understanding of structured products, market data, and financial instruments.
- Strong technical aptitude with experience working closely with developers on technical implementation.
- Familiarity with Jira for task management, project tracking, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend and translate complex financial concepts and discussions into actionable development tasks.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Familiarity with financial market data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG).
- Experience with financial modeling or quantitative analysis.Have developed / scripted in different languages.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage and prioritize Jira boards, ensuring that all tasks and tickets are clearly defined and actionable.
- Draft detailed user stories, tickets, and technical specifications for developers, focusing on the implementation of structured products, market data integration, and financial technology solutions.
- Assist in the investigation and research of complex financial concepts, ensuring thorough understanding and clarity for the development team.
- Participate in industry forums and working groups, capturing insights and translating outcomes into concrete, executable tasks.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, product management, and the development team to ensure that requirements are understood, clarified, and aligned with business objectives.
- Anticipate client and market needs by staying informed on industry trends, and proactively identify potential future requirements.
- Assist in the testing and validation of delivered features, ensuring they meet business requirements and are aligned with industry best practices.Provide analytical support and present insights to stakeholders for decision-making.
