QUALIFICATIONS

University degree in Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Science Commerce, Statistics, Economics, or related field supplemented with minimum of two years experience.

  • Proven experience with data analytics and/or data visualization software, such as SAS, PowerBI is required

Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for one year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for one year of education.

Responsibilities:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

This position analyzes, and reports on data from variety of sources to provide meaningful information for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Employment Standards (ES) programs. The Analyst uses technical expertise to provide analysis, interpretation, and resulting recommendations to the leadership team. the position provides meaningful information for client areas to make business decisions and establish business priorities. The role works in close collaboration with unit/branch/division team members in the furtherance of excellence in OHS and ES program delivery and client service. The Analyst provides leadership and/or participates in related projects.
The Analyst must have an advanced understanding of: data and databases including limitations of existing databases; approaches and methodologies to link data reliably; quantitative data collection, analysis techniques, and statistics; and approaches for database development and management. The incumbent is expected to remain current with new approaches and technologies for reporting, data analysis, statistical modelling, data visualization and information dissemination.
Responsibilities include:

  1. Participate and/or coordinate projects related to data analytics.
  • Lead/and or participate in project teams, advisory committees, working groups and/or focus groups made up of key stakeholders (management, subject matter experts, and staff from the across division).
  • Initiate the project by defining the high-level scope and objectives, identifying stakeholders, coordinating sponsors and team members, guiding the creation of project charters, recommending necessary resources (internal resourcing and contracting funds) to complete the project, and obtaining the necessary authorization required to proceed.
  • Execute project plan, implementing change management, and propose innovative solutions to mitigate emerging challenges and changes to meet the deliverable. Track, review, and regulate all activities and tasks as project progresses as well as coordinate resources (e.g. human, financial) assigned to the project communicate back to project specific leadership teams.
