Note: This position is located at 5700 Yonge St, North York, however, alternate work arrangements may be available.

  • You can review forecasts and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • You can identify potential financial issues and provide recommendations.
  • You have analytical skills to analyze financial and resource management and recommend allocations in response to constraints, priorities, and pressures.

  • You have demonstrated the ability to prepare and deliver presentations on recommendations, and reports, and provide advice to the audience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • lead the development of the ministry’s business and fiscal plans, and the development of proposals to secure program resources
  • lead the development of, and provide advice to senior executives on, ministry responses to government fiscal management strategies
  • lead the analysis of financial planning and performance, and provide advice to ministry program areas, including recommending business priorities and options to meet ministry strategic objectives within fiscal boundaries
  • provide advice, subject matter expertise, and recommendations to ministry management and central agencies on effective business planning and analysis, including the evaluation of program business/financial management practices, processes and risk
  • communicate business plan requirements throughout the ministry, and/or with ministry agencies, and ensure that central agency planning requirements are met
  • provide strategic business and financial advice and recommendations to inform policy and program development and decisions
  • provide technical guidance, leadership and supervision to staff, including assigning and reviewing work, to ensure that requirements and timelines are met
  • provide training and mentoring to new staff
  • lead assigned project teams, including development of plans, coordination and oversight of activities/resources in order to ensure delivery of quality outputs within required timelines
